My Favorite Handmades
It's a Wishlist. Okay . . . I've been a bit remiss on not sharing with you my favorite handmades these past few months. That doesn't mean I haven't been in the marketplaces. So in closing out this wonderful year, here is my December favorite handmades:
I just love, love, love the beautifully knit socks in the SlicKnits shop. You'll find it in the Zibbet marketplace. The socks come in a variety of colors for boots, yoga and bedtime. I can never resist a fun, warm pair of socks for bedtime. Add a good book and a warm cup of milk--it's a combination made for heaven on earth!
The story behind how Amitea started is a lovely read--from a military aircraft welder to working in the dental field to opening her own tiny tea room! The teas are hand blended, in fact right down the road from me in Carolina Beach, NC! What a wonderful discovery! She offers a variety of black, green, and chai teas for every taste. And for those who love to explore teas, you'll find many to choose from, such as coconut vanilla chai (wow!), holiday spice black tea, Fruitopia, Rooibos, loose leaf (You'll just have to go look for yourself), and a caffee free Caramel Cream Rooibos, loose leaf.
One of my day dreams is to have my SlicKnits socks on, a cup of tea from Amitea on the bed stand. It's Sunday morning and I'm playing hooky from Church. A good book is on the bed waiting for me, while I plow through the Wall Street Journal. What's left? Why a fabulous dessert from Condimentium Chef like this banoffee pie:
"...a classic English dessert. A sweet tart dough is the foundation. Built atop are layers of bananas, dulce de leche, and pastry cream. Chocolate shavings garnish the top."
There's nothing wrong having dessert for breakfast!
Continuing with my day dream, is a beautiful pen from Anglewood Penworks for a stimulating challenge of the Wall Street Journal crossword puzzle. At least with a fine writing pen in my hand, I would still be a winner!
Or use the beautiful fine writing ball point pen to write on my hand made note cards from Bethies Cards. While she specializes in crafting greeting cards for children, she also offers a wide range of themes from birthdays to business note cards. Already her new shop is attracting much attention and from buyers worldwide.
Now what could be more fun than sporting a pair of foxes on your legs from Rabbit And Eye! (Frankly, I just love the shop name!) The leggings are screen printed on a cotton and lycra blend fabric. You'll find lots of other fun screen printed leggings, as well as other vintage-style garments, bags and shoes.
And last, but far from the least . . . . Let me re-state that! I've saved this item as one of my most favorite handmade creations! I love every mask in Silver Cicada Designs shop. They're just fun, some themes are nostalgic, tributes to the mythical and gods, others are intriguing. Most importantly, each peace is a beautiful work of art. If you hurry, you may be able to get one for that special New Year's party; if not, Valentine's Day is coming up--and quickly.
